The topic is certainly relevant, but it's very hard to tell a story about it without standing on a soapbox. What separates this plot is Sam's homosexuality, which feels included simply because it's currently a hot button issue. It boiled down to (justified) teenage angst. While this game has some signs of competent environmental story telling, the story itself didn't have much going for it. I have some significant spoilers, but I won't tell how the game ends. If you have a passing interest in Gone Home, then you no doubt have heard the acclaim this game has gotten. My comments aren't intended to be balanced, but I feel it's necessary to ground some of Gone Home's praise back into reality.
